ABOUT

Ben Alston was born in Brooklyn, NY, the only child of Lewis & Sheila Alston. He received a Bachelor of Arts in English/Afro American Studies from the University at Albany and his MBA with concentration in Managerial Analytics from Mercy College.

Professionally he is a consultant with over 20 years of Project Management experience. He has been a Director of Project Management, Project Manager and Program Manager for Fortune 500 companies and not-for-profit agencies. Some of the companies Ben has worked with include JP Morgan Chase, Transit Center, WageWorks, MetLife and American Society for Mechanical Engineers. Ben currently works for Catholic Health Services in New York, where he is a Client Service manager, where he works closely with senior management in the development and implementation of information technology plans aligned with business strategies for CHS. In addition coordinates daily operations and manages projects for all information based services and coordinates IT resources.

Ben was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. in the spring of 1991 into the Mu Iota chapter on the campus of University at Albany. During his time on campus, Ben served as Chapter President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. He is currently a proud member of the Kappa Beta Sigma Chapter, in Brooklyn, New York, where he has served numerous leadership roles. Ben has served as President, Vice President and held many other chapter committee positions. He is the current Regional Director of Bigger and Better Business and the immediate past New York State Director. Some of his achievements include being co-host of 2014 Eastern Regional Conference in Brooklyn, 2017 Brotherhood Award recipient for New York State, Membership Intake trainer, Sigma Beta mentor, 2020 State Director of the Year, 2020 PBS Scholarship Winner and Co-chair of the Philadelphia Eastern Regional Conference.
Ben is proud to lead the innovative change to recruit, retain and promote membership throughout the Eastern Region and is proud Life Member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
